Tom set up the practice shortly after graduating from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in 2001. Tom prefers to keep the practice quite small ensuring a more personal relationship with clients. But he does relish collaborating with other creative teams on larger projects.
Tom has won three gold medals at Hampton Court Flower Show and Chelsea Flower Show. In 2012, he won the coveted People’s Choice award for his Arthritis UK sponsored show garden.
The practice is based in a 400 year old converted barn on Tom’s property in Suffolk, where there is plenty of room to create and a large two and a half acre garden to experiment in.
Projects range from small courtyard town gardens to large rural estates. Tom relishes projects that are creatively stimulating and allow for opportunities to create amazing but low input planting schemes tailored to work in a particular location. He is an advocate of traditional craftsmanship and prefers to work with local materials where possible.
Romain joined the practice last year having completed an MSc in landscape architecture. His design work won him an award at the International Garden Festival of Chaumont-sur-Loire in 2014.
Kate started managing the practice at the beginning of 2017 and works closely with the rest of the team to ensure that the business runs smoothly and that we surpass our quality management goals.
Dorota began working for Tom in the summer of 2017. She has an MEng in landscape architecture and a wealth of experience working for both commercial and domestic clients on projects of all scales.
